You know how they say every great story starts with a glass of wine and suddenly “Hey, I have an idea…”? Growing up in the southern United States we’re surrounded by old sayings… proverbs… little aphorisms used by our elders to teach a lesson. In our house I heard “waste not, want not” so many times that every time I think of throwing something out, I hear it echoing in my mind. As an adult, with my own family, I grew tired of throwing away aging fruits and vegetables. I decided to learn the art of dehydration to reduce that waste. So one quiet evening, sitting right at my dining table, enjoying that glass of wine I pondered, “What am I going to do with all these dehydrated vegetables now?” It hit me… I was going to start mixing my own spices to cook with. I was always adjusting the store-bought ones to suite my tastes anyway so why not just make my own? Once my friends got a taste of what I was cooking up they suggested I take my goods to the local farmers market. So, that’s exactly what I did. The response was overwhelming, and behold, Florida Krackers was born. Since then I’ve been blending spices one bottle at a time. This is how Florida Krackers came to be.
Hi, I’m Tami Pellicer, a proud working mother of two wonderful boys and a gorgeous granddaughter. I love my family, my town, and the traditions I grew up with. My ingredients come from local farmers. My supplies come from local companies. I am an entrepreneur and strongly support local business. People ask, “Why the name Florida Krackers?” That is quite simple. I was born and raised right here in Saint Augustine, Florida. The very definition of a Florida Kracker… who better to bring that taste of Florida right to your table?
